Miami Heat to Play as Vice City for One Night on Nov. 18
The NBA team and Rockstar Games announce "A Night in Vice City" against the Bucks, with a one-off court and uniform, a day before GTA VI.
The Miami Heat, the NBA franchise, will play on Nov. 18 as "Vice City" against the Milwaukee Bucks, in a partnership with Rockstar Games that the team announced on Oct. 2. The night is called "A Night in Vice City" and falls one day before the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, which Rockstar Games has set for Nov. 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Vice City is the Miami-inspired setting of the GTA series.
The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern at the Kaseya Center in Miami, according to the Heat's official page. ESPN will broadcast it, and that page adds local channel WPLG Local 10 and radio station 104.3 WQAM. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster.
What changes that night is the setting. The club promises a court built for a single game and a "completely reimagined" uniform it has not yet shown; fans who want to see the design can sign up on the same page. It also mentions in-arena activities, without giving details. "For one night only, the HEAT trades Miami for Vice City," the team wrote on its X account.
Later that day, the Heat posted a video of a lit-up sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center, ending on a card with the logos of the team, ESPN and Rockstar. On Oct. 1 the "Welcome to Vice City" sign was lit, according to the club's press release as reproduced by The Source. The team also sells a clothing collection called Court Culture Vice City.
Kotaku reads it as one more step in the marketing campaign for GTA VI. Rockstar had not published its own post about the partnership in the sources reviewed as of publication: the announcement came from the Heat. Still to be revealed are the uniform design, the court and the details of the activities.
