Binance reopens withdrawals in phases, says 95% is replaced
The first phase opened on 15 networks, including Bitcoin and Ethereum; tokens outside the top ten still have no date.
Binance began restoring withdrawals on Sunday, in stages. The first phase opened between 06:00 and 09:00 UTC, from midnight to 3 a.m. in Mexico City, the company said in its fourth recovery update after the $6.3 billion theft.
Customers holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP or Dogecoin, or the stablecoins USDT and USDC, can withdraw again. Phase one covers 15 networks, picked by the exchange based on last week's demand:
| Network | Assets |
|---|---|
| Bitcoin | BTC |
| Ethereum | ETH, USDT, USDC |
| BNB Smart Chain | BNB, USDT, USDC |
| Tron | TRX, USDT |
| Solana | SOL, USDT, USDC |
| XRP Ledger | XRP |
| Zcash | ZEC |
| Dogecoin | DOGE |
| TON | USDT, GRAM |
| Polygon | POL, USDT, USDC |
| Avalanche C-Chain | AVAX, USDT, USDC |
| Arbitrum | ETH, USDT, USDC, ARB |
| Base | ETH, USDC |
| Optimism | ETH, USDT, USDC |
| Sui | SUI |
Everything else has no date. More networks will be added "when ready," the announcement says. Deposits were never closed. Binance warns of possible delays from heavy traffic and tells users to wait a moment and retry if a withdrawal fails.
The exchange says it has replaced about 95% of the affected amount.
That is up from 90% in the previous update and about 80% before that. The missing 5% is tokens outside the top ten, which are less liquid and which Binance is buying on the market and through OTC channels, meaning direct trades off the open market. The financial hit falls on the company, the statement says, "not our users."
Ten assets (BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC) are backed 100% by reserves, Binance says, pointing to its Proof of Reserves page. Both that backing and the 95% are the company's own figures, with no independent check.
The technical cause is still unconfirmed. Binance has promised a post-incident report when its investigation ends, with no date for it.
