Netflix releases all of Below on Oct. 8
The six-episode creature series with Josh Hartnett drops in full that day, set in a Newfoundland fishing town.
Netflix will release all six episodes of *Below* (titled *Bajo la superficie* in Spanish) on Thursday, Oct. 8, according to the series' official page on Netflix Tudum. Every episode arrives the same day, with no weekly releases.
The story follows Calvin Penney, a fisherman in a coastal community in Newfoundland, Canada. His father's unexplained death has marked him for decades. An unidentified sea creature begins attacking the town and his son Wade develops strange symptoms. Calvin then teams up with Fonda, a visiting marine researcher.
Josh Hartnett plays Calvin, Charlie Heaton plays Wade and Mackenzie Davis plays Fonda. The cast also includes Willow Kean, Ruby Stokes, Rohan Campbell, Natasha Henstridge and Mary Walsh, according to The Week.
Jesse McKeown, of *The Umbrella Academy*, created the series, and Pacesetter Productions is behind the production. Jamie Childs, Stephen Dunn and Helen Shaver direct. Filming ran from June to October 2025 in Newfoundland, at locations including Conception Harbour, Brigus South and Bacon Cove.
Netflix released the trailer on Sept. 10. Each episode runs about an hour, according to What's on Netflix, the only source consulted that gives the length.
In its October lineup, El Imparcial lists the series ahead of *The Diplomat*, whose fourth season arrives on the 15th, and *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2*, on the 20th. The sources give only the date: Netflix has not said what time it will be available in Mexico.
