Netflix sets Dec. 1 for Trinity, a nuclear-sub thriller
Jed Mercurio, the creator of Bodyguard, is behind the seven-episode series starring Richard Madden. A first trailer is out.
Netflix will premiere Trinity on Tuesday, Dec. 1, the streamer said on its Tudum site, where it also released the first trailer for the seven-episode political and military thriller.
Jed Mercurio, who created Bodyguard, writes the series and serves as showrunner. Richard Madden plays Defense Secretary Webb Preston, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw is Katherine Decker, a naval commander in charge of a nuclear submarine. In Netflix's synopsis, Decker becomes involved with Preston and discovers he may be tied to a dangerous conspiracy.
For a thriller, Mercurio says, a nuclear submarine offers "no deadlier or more claustrophobic setting."
He and Madden worked together before on Bodyguard. Trinity puts them back in political suspense, this time with a submarine that can go months undetected at the center of the story.
Netflix has not said whether the series will arrive dubbed or subtitled in Spanish for Mexico.
