Netflix's Pride and Prejudice series arrives Dec. 3
The six-episode adaptation with Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden now has a full trailer, a month before it lands on the platform.
Netflix has released the full trailer for *Pride and Prejudice*, its series based on Jane Austen's novel, and the platform will premiere it Dec. 3, a Thursday.
Dolly Alderton wrote the six episodes and Euros Lyn directs. Emma Corrin plays Lizzie Bennet and Jack Lowden is Mr. Darcy, with Olivia Colman and Rufus Sewell as the Bennet parents. Fiona Shaw, Louis Partridge, Daryl McCormack and Jamie Demetriou round out the cast. Lookout Point produces, and Corrin is also an executive producer.
Alderton spoke of the weight of adapting such a familiar novel: "This is everyone's favorite book. It's too much responsibility." Corrin said "everyone wants a bit of hope," and Lowden called the series "so joyous and beautiful and romantic."
Austen published the novel in 1813, and it is among her most-adapted works. This version first appeared in February in a teaser under a minute long, with no dialogue, that promised a fall release.
Netflix has already posted the series page. The premiere is Thursday, Dec. 3.
