Dark Arisen launches Oct. 9, from $29.99
Capcom has set prices for the Dragon's Dogma 2 expansion and its bundle with the base game; on Switch 2, only the bundle exists.
Capcom will release Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Oct. 9 on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, according to the company's announcement. The date was announced in June and still stands five days out. What changes from one platform to another is how it is sold, and that decides what it costs to get in.
On PS5, Xbox and Steam, the expansion is DLC that requires the base game. Steam lists it at $29.99, and the base game costs $39.99. Switch 2 has no standalone DLC: only a bundle with the game and the expansion, at $49.99 according to RPG Site.
The math favors the bundle. The base game and the expansion bought separately add up to $69.98; the Dark Arisen edition on the PlayStation Store costs $49.99, or $19.99 less, and includes three extras: the Norgan Fashion Set, the Explorer's Camping Kit and the Custom Sounds. Anyone who already owns the game outside Switch 2 has one option: the $29.99 DLC.
The expansion takes players to Norgan, a snowy region in the north where the "Forsaken Dominion" campaign takes place. It includes 12 dungeon challenges and new hairstyles and tattoos for the character creator. The official description places it in a long-abandoned area where the Arisen teams up with Eir.

Three things remain unconfirmed.
Steam shows Oct. 8 because it uses the U.S. time zone, while Capcom says Oct. 9, so the exact unlock time in Mexico is pending. No official price in Mexican pesos has turned up, and there are no scored reviews yet.
