God of War Laufey delayed to May 20, 2027
Santa Monica Studio is pushing its PS5 exclusive back three months to polish the game. The Collector Box moves to May, too.
God of War Laufey will no longer launch Feb. 16, 2027. Santa Monica Studio announced on X that the PlayStation 5 exclusive will arrive May 20, 2027, three months later than planned.
The studio's statement, posted Wednesday as an image, says the team will use the extra time on finishing touches so the game performs at its best. It does not point to a specific development problem. It thanks players for their enthusiasm since the June reveal, asks for patience and promises more news soon.
The Collector Box moves with the game. PlayStation's official blog guide to editions and pre-orders now lists May 20 for the box, which is sold without the game and includes a light-up Faye statue, a 51-card Oracle deck and a mini art book. It costs $149.99 (€149.99 or £129.99).
Pre-orders opened Sept. 29. The guide keeps both editions: the Standard, in physical form, and the Digital Deluxe, which adds the Dark Alchemy armor set, a resource pack, a digital mini art book and the digital soundtrack. The pre-order bonuses are unchanged: the Last Wish armor set and the Phranque Golden Leaves appearance, both unlocked by progressing through the story.
For players in Mexico who have already reserved a copy, the guide gives no price in pesos and says nothing about refunds. Cancellation terms depend on the store where the game was bought, so it is worth checking there. The studio has not said whether prices will change.
God of War Laufey now launches May 20, 2027.
