Cardinals close in on Marvin Harrison Jr. trade, ESPN says
Schefter and Rapoport report the receiver will sit out against the Lions while the deal is finalized; the destination is unconfirmed.
The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade of receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., ESPN and NFL Network reported on Saturday, Oct. 10. The information comes from sources cited by reporters Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Neither the Cardinals nor the NFL has confirmed a deal, and neither outlet calls it complete: they describe a trade that is being closed.
Harrison will not play Sunday against the Detroit Lions, ESPN reported: he will be inactive while the deal is completed.
The destination remains open. According to ESPN, the Houston Texans have talked with Arizona and are "in the mix"; if he landed in Houston, he would play with quarterback C.J. Stroud. In a separate report, ESPN says the Colts are not involved in the talks.
The price is not settled either. Arizona was seeking a second-round pick and something more, according to the reports. ESPN adds that the team at one point asked for the equivalent of a first-round pick, while other clubs valued him as a second-day draft pick.
In four games in 2026, Harrison has five catches for 85 yards, a touchdown and 13 targets, according to NFL.com. For his career he has 108 catches, 1,578 yards and 13 touchdowns in 33 games.
An official announcement is still pending. ESPN places the NFL trade deadline less than a month away, and an earlier Schefter report, from Oct. 5, put it on Nov. 10.
