Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro support ends Oct. 13
Microsoft ends servicing for that version on Home and Pro editions; versions 25H2 and 26H2 keep receiving security updates.
Microsoft will end servicing for Windows 11 version 24H2 on the Home and Pro editions on Oct. 13, 2026, according to Microsoft's release information. That day is also Patch Tuesday, the second Tuesday of each month, when the company ships its monthly fixes.
After that date, PCs running 24H2 will keep booting and working, but Microsoft will no longer send them monthly security fixes, according to Pureinfotech. Versions 25H2 and 26H2 remain supported. Version 26H2 has been available since Sept. 29.
| Version | Available since | End of servicing |
|---|---|---|
| 24H2 | Oct. 1, 2024 | Oct. 13, 2026 |
| 25H2 | Sept. 30, 2025 | Oct. 12, 2027 |
| 26H2 | Sept. 29, 2026 | Oct. 10, 2028 |
The lifecycle page lists the end of 24H2 at 6:59 a.m. on Oct. 14, while the release health page gives it as Oct. 13. Enterprise and Education editions get more time: their 24H2 stays supported until Oct. 12, 2027.
Some points are still unclear. Pureinfotech describes a small enablement package for moving from 25H2 to 26H2 without reinstalling, but it does not say whether a 24H2 PC must go through 25H2 first. Microsoft also does not say, in the pages consulted, whether any device is blocked by hardware, and there is no separate notice for Mexico. Those details depend on what Microsoft publishes in its documentation and in Windows Update.
