Three Dallas shootings leave 4 dead and 15 injured
Police handled three scenes in the Deep Ellum nightlife district in under 80 minutes after Halloween night. No suspects have been found.
Four people were killed and 15 wounded in three shootings in Deep Ellum, the downtown Dallas district of bars and music venues, in the early hours of Sunday, after Halloween night. Dallas police counted 19 victims in all, and every wounded person was taken to a local hospital.
Officers responded to three scenes, each logged under its own case number:
- 12:20 a.m., 2600 block of Elm Street.
- 1:05 a.m., 2600 block of Main Street.
- 1:35 a.m., 200 block of South Crowdus Street.
Seventy-five minutes separated the first call from the last. No officers were hurt.
The suspects remain at large, and the department has not said whether the three attacks are linked. It has not broken down how many people died or were wounded at each scene, and it has not released the victims' names or ages. Police Chief Daniel Comeaux spoke to reporters Sunday morning.
Deep Ellum is one of Dallas' busiest nightlife neighborhoods, and Halloween night typically fills it with crowds. Dallas is home to a large Mexican-origin community, and police have not said whether any of the victims are Mexican nationals.
