U2 opens its world tour in Mexico City with two shows in 2027

Beck will open at Estadio GNP Seguros; the earliest presale starts Monday, Oct. 19, and general sale opens Friday, Oct. 23.

U2 will play two shows in Mexico City, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, and Friday, Feb. 26, 2027, both at Estadio GNP Seguros, a stadium in the capital. They will be the first stop of the band's Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth tour. U2 announced the dates on Oct. 15 on its website, and Beck will open both nights.

It is the band's first stadium tour since The Joshua Tree Tour, which ended in Mumbai on Dec. 15, 2019. After Mexico, the tour goes to São Paulo on March 10 and 12, and to Buenos Aires on March 23 and 25. The band said it will add dates in Europe and North America "in the coming weeks."

"Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are."

Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. closed the announcement with that line, according to the band's website.

The presales

Tickets go on sale in stages, according to the calendar on the band's site. Mexican outlet Milenio also carries Ocesa's notice on the Banamex presale. Ocesa is the concert promoter, and Banamex is a Mexican bank.
