Pokémon Unite will shut down its servers on March 23, 2027
The free MOBA from The Pokémon Company stops selling gems and memberships today on Switch and mobile; one last update arrives Nov. 12.
Pokémon Unite has an end date. The Pokémon Company says the game will go offline at midnight UTC on March 23, 2027, which is 18:00 on Monday, March 22, in Mexico City. The shutdown covers both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions.
After that, nobody can log in or play a match. The store goes first: as of Tuesday, Aeos Gems are no longer for sale, and new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals have stopped too. Gems already in an account can be spent until the last day, and current members keep their perks for the period they paid for.
An update on Nov. 12 will add a special event and a "library" feature, built to let players browse certain records and game content once the service has ended. There is a catch. Anyone who wants to open it after the shutdown has to finish downloading its data beforehand, and that download cannot be moved to another device.
The dates that matter:
- Now: gems and memberships off sale.
- Nov. 12: update with the event and the library.
- March 22, 18:00 in Mexico City: access ends.
Competitive play survives. The company confirms that the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament is still on, with qualifiers starting Dec. 5, 2026. What does disappear with the servers is support for people who publish video and images of the game: the content guidelines for online platforms will no longer be maintained.
The notice does not say why the game is closing, gives no player numbers and does not mention refunds for unspent gems. April had been floated as the closing month, but the official date is in March.
