Shrek 2 Remastered arrives Nov. 10, from about $21
Aspyr opened preorders for the remaster, with four-player online co-op and a 10% Steam discount through Nov. 17.
The Shrek 2 remaster arrives Nov. 10 and can already be preordered. Aspyr Media confirmed it at Tuesday's ID@Xbox Showcase, and on Steam Mexico it costs $21 (394.99 pesos, at 18.64 pesos per dollar on Oct. 21).
What is new compared with the 2004 game is co-op: up to four people, on the same couch, online or a mix of both. The original could only be played locally.
Aspyr says everything was rebuilt with better textures, a revamped interface, 4K resolution and improved cutscenes. The Steam page adds a photo mode and a cheat menu.
The announcement trailer also parodies the style of the Grand Theft Auto VI trailers, down to the pacing and lettering.
The two stores with preorders discount differently:
| Store | Discount | Valid |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Mexico | 10%: from Mex$ 394.99 ($21) to Mex$ 355.49 ($19) | Through Nov. 17 |
| Xbox | Up to 20% with Game Pass Ultimate; 10% without a membership | Through Nov. 9 |
Platforms are not entirely clear. Xbox mentions only Series X|S, but the official site links to stores for Switch, Switch 2, Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox and PlayStation.
On PC, the minimum requirements are:
- System: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, with DirectX 12
- Processor: Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-12400F
- Memory: 16 GB of RAM
- Graphics: Radeon RX 7600 or GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/4060
- Storage: 12 GB
The Steam preorder discount runs a week past launch.
