Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 hit Switch 2 today, from $19.79
Capcom is selling the three remakes separately and digital-only; the US eShop has a launch discount through Nov. 7.
Capcom put Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 on sale today in the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, according to the official Resident Evil site. They are sold separately, with no bundle, and for now only as downloads. Boxed copies would arrive on Jan. 29, 2027, per the Capcom France announcement reported by Playnews; that date is confirmed for Europe, and none has been given for the Americas.
| Game | Regular price | Launch price | Download |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition | 39.99 | 29.99 | 14 GB |
| Resident Evil 3 | 29.99 | 19.79 | 12.9 GB |
| Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition | 49.99 | 39.99 | 29 GB |
The launch discount runs through Nov. 7, Pacific time. The prices are the ones Playnews reported on Oct. 9, and the download sizes come from Nintendo Wire; the three games add up to 55.9 GB. The Mexican eShop price had not been confirmed when this story closed.
What each edition includes, according to the stores Playnews cites:
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition: the full game, three Samurai Edge guns, the music from the 1998 original and extra costumes, four for Claire and three for Leon.
- Resident Evil 3: the base game with two cosmetic extras, a classic outfit for Jill and a classic hairstyle for Carlos.
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition: the Separate Ways mode and The Mercenaries alongside the main campaign, plus costumes for Leon and Ashley, two deluxe weapons, the original soundtrack, a treasure map and two charms.
The first scores landed before launch, based on press copies. Nintendo Life gave Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 a 9 out of 10 and Resident Evil 3 a 6 out of 10. Its reviewer Ollie Reynolds called the Gold Edition "the gold standard for modern remakes". It is the only score available so far.
On performance, Digital Foundry, as cited by Nintendo Life, puts Resident Evil 4 at 60 frames per second, with dips to 50 in busy scenes and down to 40 in some fights. Resident Evil 2 and 3, originally built for the PS4, hold a steadier 60.

Still missing: the Mexican price, and whether the boxed edition reaches the Americas on the same date as Europe.
