Videos shared on social media show an alleged glowing object descending toward the sea off Acapulco, a Pacific resort city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. The account Polymarket Español on X shared the footage on Saturday, Oct. 3. It is an account that reposts content: it is not the source of the videos, and it is not known who recorded them.

So far there is no official confirmation of what the object was or that it fell into the sea. That is what TV Azteca Baja California reports, describing a luminous sphere that appears to drop from the sky into the water, several kilometers from the coast.

Another version of the videos was published by TV Azteca Guerrero, which describes a bright sphere over Acapulco Bay. The outlet adds that users are divided over its origin.

Neither report cites Mexico's civil protection service, the Navy or any specialist. No statement was found from the Acapulco harbor master's office, the Guerrero state government or astronomers, and no rocket re-entry announced for that area turned up.

The sources consulted do not say what time it happened or where each video was shot, and El Mediático could not verify either on its own. For that reason, the object is not described as a meteor, space debris or anything else.

The story will be updated if an authority or a specialist explains what was seen.
