iPhone Duo goes on sale in Mexico today from about $2,571
The four storage sizes run from about $2,571 to $4,178 in Mexico, and with preorders sold out, stores will have few units for walk-in buyers.
Apple's iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable phone, goes on sale in Mexico today from about $2,571 (47,999 pesos, at 18.67 pesos per dollar on Oct. 23).
Apple's online store in Mexico offers it in four storage sizes, from 256 GB to 2 TB, and two colors: starlight white and night sky.
| Storage | Cash price | 18 interest-free payments, per month |
|---|---|---|
| 256 GB | 47,999 pesos ($2,571) | 2,666.61 pesos ($143) |
| 512 GB | 52,999 pesos ($2,839) | 2,944.39 pesos ($158) |
| 1 TB | 62,999 pesos ($3,375) | 3,499.94 pesos ($187) |
| 2 TB | 77,999 pesos ($4,178) | 4,333.28 pesos ($232) |
Prices include sales tax but not shipping. The purchase page shows no delivery date or stock, so anyone ordering online today does not yet know when the phone would arrive.
Buyers who did not reserve one will compete for whatever the stores have. Walk-in sales start today with few units and no guarantee, and the online preorder, open since Oct. 16, has already sold out, according to La Crónica de Hoy. Apple has not said how many units each store receives.
Apple unveiled the phone on Sept. 10. Its spec sheet lists a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer one, the A20 Pro chip, two 48 MP cameras and IP68 water and dust resistance. The company says the battery lasts up to 31 hours of video on the inner screen and up to 44 on the outer one. Those are the manufacturer's figures, and no independent tests confirm them yet.
The Duo supports only eSIM, so moving a phone line to it depends on the user's carrier offering that service. Siri AI also arrives first in English: Apple's product page promises Spanish "later this year."
