Promoter cancels Calvin Harris shows in Mexico City

NPU Live will refund every ticket for the three Live at Fray Nano dates, service fees included, and has not said why it pulled the plug.

The promoter NPU Live canceled all three Live at Fray Nano concerts it had planned for Mexico City. Sean Paul and Deorro were due to play Oct. 29, and Calvin Harris Oct. 30 and 31. The company announced it Friday.

In its statement, NPU Live apologized for "the disappointment" and the inconvenience. It gave no reason.

The shows fell on the weekend of the Mexican Grand Prix.

Refunds cover the full ticket price plus service fees. They go back automatically to the original payment method, with nothing for buyers to file, and can take two to seven business days to show up, depending on the bank.

That promise stops at the ticket. Fans who booked a hotel or a flight for the weekend have no compensation on offer so far.

The dates had already moved once. The original venue was the National Museum of Energy and Technology (MUNET), in Chapultepec, and the shows switched to Estadio Fray Nano about two weeks before the cancellation. In late September, the state power utility CFE, which runs the MUNET, warned that the promoters still lacked permits from Mexico City's civil protection and environment authorities. NPU Live did not tie the cancellation to that or to anything else.

Buyers who do not see the money after that window can check with their bank or with the company's official channels. NPU Live has not announced new dates.
