PlayStation unveils transparent controllers and PS5 covers
The Prism Collection comes in three colors, with the DualSense at $84.99; preorders open Nov. 10.
PlayStation on Wednesday unveiled the Prism Collection, a line of transparent DualSense controllers and PS5 covers in three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray.
The controller costs $84.99 and the cover $74.99, both suggested prices. Preorders open Nov. 10: in the United States at 7 a.m. Pacific (9 a.m. in Mexico City) at direct.playstation.com. In 10 European countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom) they open at 10 a.m. local time at playstation.com.
The controller will sell worldwide. The cover will be sold only through PlayStation Direct where that store exists, and in limited quantities through select retailers elsewhere.
The controller's back shell is clear and shows its electronics, while the center piece has a metallic look. Every color has a high-gloss finish, and PlayStation says the design draws on the translucent controllers of the late 90s.
Leo Cardoso, on PlayStation's design team, said fans had long been waiting for "the return of transparent controllers."
PlayStation has not published peso prices or confirmed official sales in Mexico: the preorder details cover only the United States and 10 European countries. For now, buyers in Mexico would depend on retailers or imports.
The products go on sale starting Feb. 4, 2027, with variations by country.
