Prime Video sets Jan. 13 premiere for Fallout reality show
The ten-episode competition series with a $1 million prize drops four episodes on day one, then goes weekly.
*Fallout Shelter: The Experiment*, the reality competition spun off from Bethesda's franchise, premieres Jan. 13, 2027, on Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios announced the date Friday in a 24-second teaser that greets "future Vault Dwellers."
The unscripted series runs ten episodes and streams only on Prime Video, in more than 240 countries and territories. The winner takes home $1 million. Four episodes arrive on premiere day, and three more follow weekly through Jan. 27. The release plan for the last three has not been announced.
The teaser's tagline: "The World is Ending, The Competition is Just Beginning."
Studio Lambert produces, in partnership with Kilter Films, the company run by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and in association with Bethesda Game Studios. Todd Howard and James Altman are executive producers for Bethesda. No host or contestants have been named.
Prime Video first revealed the show in January 2026 with a casting call for volunteers willing to "beta test a better society," but gave no date then. The streamer already carries the Fallout drama from Nolan and Joy, so this would be its second production from the franchise. The title matches Bethesda's mobile game, though nobody has said what the show will borrow from it.
Viewers in Mexico get the same Jan. 13 premiere on Prime Video, with no regional restriction announced.
