GTA VI trailer passes GTA V's view count in four days

The Launch Trailer has more than 51 million views on Rockstar's YouTube channel, topping a video that has been online for 13 years.

The Launch Trailer for *Grand Theft Auto VI* now has more YouTube views than the launch trailer for *Grand Theft Auto V*. Rockstar Games posted it Oct. 15 on the game's official site, and TheGamer counted 47 million plays on Monday, three days after its release.

Tech4Gamers puts the figure above 51 million on Tuesday, after the video cleared 50 million on its fourth day. That count covers only Rockstar's official channel.

GTA V's trailer has about 34 million after 13 years online.

The comparison has limits. It sets one video on one channel against another from a different era, when YouTube's audience looked very different. GTA VI's own numbers don't line up with each other, either. Rockstar boasted 475 million views for the second trailer in its first day, but that tally added up several platforms. The first, from December 2023, was exclusive to YouTube, and Guinness World Records logged 90 421 491 views in 24 hours.

These are plays, not sales or preorders. Rockstar dropped the video without warning a month before the game's release.

The game launches Nov. 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and preorders are open.
