Sergio Pérez signs Cadillac F1 extension through at least 2029

The Mexican driver stays with the American team, which made the news public the day before the Mexico City Grand Prix, his 300th start.

Sergio "Checo" Pérez is staying at Cadillac. The American team announced a multiyear extension that keeps the Mexican driver in its lineup "until at least 2029."

The team made the news public from Mexico City, one day before the Mexico City Grand Prix. There Pérez will make his 300th Grand Prix start, a milestone the team highlights along with his six race wins.

Dan Towriss, Cadillac F1's CEO, said securing Pérez gives the team the "continuity and commitment" to keep growing. The driver pointed to a concrete horizon: "I am fully committed for the next three years."

In the team's first season, the statement says, the driver's feedback and race pace helped speed up the chassis and sharpen work on track. The operation is split across Silverstone, Indianapolis and Charlotte, and is backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors.

Pérez joined the team when it announced its lineup in August 2025, alongside Valtteri Bottas, both on multiyear contracts. The new deal keeps a Mexican driver on the grid beyond 2027.

Cadillac did not disclose Pérez's salary or whether the contract includes options. It also said nothing about Bottas's status for next season.
